Singer Efya is the latest of top Ghanaian acts to grace this season’s edition of the Coke Studio Africa show, which brings top artists from various parts of the continent together to create medleys of some of Africa’s favorite anthems.
The Jorley crooner is the third Ghanaian this year to record in Kenya for the show after rapper E.L and Stonebwoy.
The Coke Studio Africa has been graced by some of the biggest African stars yet, including Nigeria’s MI Abaga and 2Baba (2Face Idibia), Kenya’s Avril, and Mozambique’s Neymar.
Born Jane Efya Awindor to veteran broadcaster Nana Adjoa Awindor of Greetings from Abroad fame, Efya has maintained her grip on the accolade of one of Ghana’s premier female vocalists since bursting unto the scene as one half of duo Irene and Jane in 2008, being awarded GMA Best Female Vocal Performance of the Year an unprecedented four times in a row.
Efya is also currently promoting her long-awaited debut album Jenesis, which was launched on April 16.
