Sonnie Badu has a new album “Soundz of Africa”… It has French rendition of ‘Baba’

International gospel act, Sonnie Badu is all set to release his fifth album on August 23.

Titled Soundz of Africa, it was recorded live in Maryland on November 1, 2014 at the New Psalmist Baptist Church. The classical hymn-heavy album is themed “African Gospel in Classical Hymns and Songs”.

It features American gospel names Jonathan Nelson and Darwin Hobbs. Badu’s wife Annie Badu also makes an appearance.

The album was recorded by award winning engineer Danny Duncan, known for works with Israel Houghton, Cece Winnans and Marvin Sapp.

Soundz of Africa has songs like Still You Reign, Free, Amazing God, Wo ne Alpha ne Omega, and some medleys among others. The album also features a French rendition of his hit song Baba.

“It has been an awesome journey.  The album has to do with my experience and everything I have learnt. I am very proud of myself and I am happy that we have been able to achieve this,” Badu says of his upcoming effort.

Badu in the months leading up to the announcement released two singles Imani and Amazing God.
