To develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures; controlling budgets for security operations and monitor expense. Duties & Responsibilities

• Managing the Contractor Guard Force complement and providing an effective and efficient security service

• Manage the posting and supervising

• Manage all legal requirements (Induction, red ticket, K53s etc.)

• Reporting to the Protection Superintendent on a daily basis

• Communicating orally and in writing (English)

• Making written recommendations to improve the security service by conducting 06 monthly audits and formulating a Risk Plan

• Conducting regular visits to posts and client property

• Conduct operational investigations where needed and assist client security officers in security related issues and investigations

• Must have a sound professional approach to client employees and contractor security members

• Manage the Parades ensure that all guards attend the parade and that all information is discussed at the parade.

• Ensure all posts are up to standard, including documentation, equipment, etc

• Ensure that housekeeping is maintained at the posts and at the barracks

• Ensure weekly barracks inspections are done and that repairs are done timiouesty

• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are in good condition at all times

• Conduct blitz searches • Conduct Public Liability audits

• Ensure that all security personnel comply to all client procedures and instructions

• Liaise with law enforcement agencies.

• Must have adequate knowledge of the explosives act

• Thorough knowledge and experience of Mining Security

• Conduct planned task observations and on the job training as required

• Ensure that tasks and duties are planned

• Ensure monthly staff meetings are held as well as safety meetings

• Ensure that all contract stipulations are adhered to at all times — implement and manage all controls to ensure compliance

• End user computing MS office suit

• Knowledge of Criminal Procedure Act

• PSIRA regulations and Security legislation

• Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and COIDA

Qualifications

• Grade A PSIRA Security Grading

• Grade 12

• Post Matric qualification is an added advantage

• Driver’s License
