Service Engineer SADC Region at Sealed Air Corporation

Job Summary:
As part of our Commercial organization, the Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining and servicing of Sealed Air’s equipment and extending best in class service and value add to the markets we serve.
Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinating with pre-sales, sales and customers and providing fast and timely support/resolutions.
  • Providing maintenance and installation for fleet of equipment in SADC (South African Development Community) region.
  • Evaluating customer needs, define their expectations, plan and organize services, maintenance or installation work.
  • Providing full technical service as needed during business and non-business hours.
  • Troubleshooting technical equipment problems and provide technical guidance where necessary.
  • Acting as a technical liaison with customers on an advisory and diagnostic basis across a full spectrum of customer technical personnel.
  • Ordering spare parts (as needed), including supporting full administration of all necessary documentation and quotations/pricing of parts and services; and ensuring that the required spare parts are available before servicing of equipment is conducted.
  • Providing quotations to customers for spare parts and services required.
  • Initiating technical service reports identifying technical deviations and initiating necessary actions.
  • Reviewing customer needs and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ensuring customers are provided with quality services and equipment in compliance with company and external standards, reviewing all documentation of installations, modifications, services, corrective actions and other activities.
  • Developing relationships with strategic partners.
  • Selling preventative maintenance program to customers.
  • Completing service tickets in C4C for all services completed and spare parts sold.
  • Maintaining a positive cost coverage.
  • Ensuring all expenses are submitted on time.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A degree or diploma in a technical field; preferably Electrical Engineering or related.
  • 5+ years of directly related work experience installing and servicing electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Prior experience interfacing with external customers.
  • Prior PLC experience and FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) experience.
  • Prior experience and/or working knowledge of pneumatics.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively based on customer needs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team oriented atmosphere.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Ability to travel 70%-90% of the time and flexible to work nights and weekends (as needed).
