At DHL Supply Chain South Africa we’re looking for an

Officer: Quality Controller

Primary purpose of the role

Ensure compliance of operation sites towards quality management system, regulatory and specific client quality requirements. Ensure at all times, operational standards and procedures are adhered to in accordance with GDP guidelines. Support the operations in achieving all of the contractually agreed Key Performance Targets for the customer. Ensure customer satisfaction through delivering of good quality services throughout the operations.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure implementation & maintenance of a Quality Management System. Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced

Understand the basic principles & objectives of world class distribution centre

Implementing basic problem solving techniques

Understanding and applying basic cost control measures

Understanding the documentation used in QA and operations

Ensure Document Control system is in place and documents (SOP’s/WI/Forms) are reviewed and updated as required Record any non-conformance/incident/damage immediately.

Assist with the induction and training of new staff as and when required

Complying with company policies and procedures

Complying with Health and Safety regulations

Perform administration tasks according to standard operating procedures

Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Working in a safe manner

Ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with GDP/GWP

Approve the initial and continuous training programme for all personnel involved in distribution activities

Ensure that all personnel are trained in GDP/GWP

Take corrective measures in respect of the deficiencies with regard to inspection reports from internal and/or customer audits Involved in the qualification and approval of suppliers and customers

Ensure a Change Control programme is implemented and maintained

To be able to assist co-ordination and perform promptly any product recalls

Ensure that all employees are conversant with the system laid down for using and following the Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with DHL Path to Quality.

Ensure that inspection audits are performed on all third party contractors whereby it is established that written systems are adhered to and all operations are carried out in accordance with approved written procedures.

Ensure that adequate pest control and cleaning programmes are in place at the distribution facility, using acceptable food grade bait, and to ensure that precautions are taken to ensure that product contamination does not occur.

Ensure that self-inspection audits are performed according to a schedule and any deviations followed up and the necessary corrective measures are implemented

Manage the receiving and sampling of Unapproved Product received from the Client.

Check all relevant documentation in order to formally release final product for distribution. (if required)

Approve Technical/Quality Agreements and contracts with the various Principals and Suppliers which specifies their respective responsibilities Ensure that a CAPA programme is maintained

Ensure that the processes needed for the Quality Management System meets First Choice Requirements and complies with international ISO & GDP standards. In addition, ensure that these Systems and processes are established, implemented, and maintained. Reporting to Management on Quality Management System performance and any need for improvement.

Ensuring awareness of client and quality requirements throughout the organisation

Functioning as liaison with internal and external parties on matters relating to the Quality Management System

Work in collaboration with relevant Acts and operational requirements

To ensure control over the facility; working together with the Distribution Centre Manager / Responsible Pharmacist

Ensure reporting data on relevant global DHL systems (QSA, CAPA’s, etc.)

Plan monthly / quarterly Quality Review meetings

Immediately reports discrepancies, incidents, near misses and non-conformances.

Drive Quality culture through consistent communication and employee engagements

Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory, customer and legal obligations prior, during and after implementation Ensure written SOPs fulfil quality requirements (legal and customer)

Prepare and participate in customer, regulatory and internal operational audits as required and work with the team to implement agreed action plans.

Full Legal Compliance with regard to Legal, Complaints, Recalling, and goods returned or rejected

Accuracy in checking, reporting and spreadsheet input

Achievement of goals or targets in terms of the DC operational service level agreements with Principals

Qualifications

Matric

ISO 9001:2015 Implementation & auditor training (advantage)

Diploma/Certificate in Logistics,Warehouse and distribution

 

Skills/Competencies/Experiences

Good analytical and numerical skills

Excellent communicator (verbal & written)

Computer literate (Word, Excel & Email, & Associated pharmaceutical programs)

Excellent organizational & time management skills

Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements

Ability to interpret and implement policies, processes and objectives.

Meeting deadlines

Maintaining accuracy

Experience in and working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance

Operational experience in the Supply Chain industry

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills

Languages

English – Written and spoken
