Security Business Data Analyst at South African Reserve Bank

The main purpose of this position is to research, design, implement and provide business data process integration solutions across the business areas of the Group Security Management Department (GSMD) within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), generate reports on information trends, create efficiencies of the process, and ensure data integrity for the purposes of business intelligence and management information.

Detailed Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
· Build and maintain the GSMD business data model based on business requirements.
· Ensure the collection and correlation of business data from security data-generating sources such as Electronic Access Control System (EACS), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Building Management System (BMS), Fire Detection System (FDS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), Emergency Management Application (EMA), Firearm Management System (Factt) and Cyber security systems to meet business situational awareness requirements.
· Define business use cases according to business requirements.
· Perform analysis of structured data from security and facility systems to provide insight in support of decision-making and business processes.
· Provide data analysis services in support of the capability for integrated situational awareness reporting that highlights the risks, trends and degree of compliance based on data analysed.
· Establish and maintain business stakeholder relationships.
· Research, design, implement and validate fit-for-purpose enhancements of business data collection, aggregation and correlation management systems.
· Lead business data-related projects as project owner, and participate in business projects related to business data collection and correlation.
· Proactively broaden knowledge of own functional area, displaying a willingness to make improvements in the Unit (including methods and practices).
Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
· a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology (IT), or Statistics, or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification; and
· five to eight years of working experience in business data and information collection and analysis.
