Job Purpose

The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape has opportunities for three (3) suitably qualified and competent individuals to provide administrative and technical support regarding the ICT Government Motor Transport (GMT) Systems and related ICT services. These posts are stationed in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements

Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification) with A+ Certification (or related); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in IT/ICT environment.

Recommendation

A valid Code B (or higher) driving license.

Key Performance Areas

Administer ICT Systems; Coordinate and facilitate the provision of user system and desktop support in liaison with CeI and other service providers; Develop and maintain documentation for both training and server purposes; Facilitate the assurance of Government Motor Transport (GMT) IT system security and governance in liaison with SITA & other service providers; Provide GMT Desktop Support Services; Provide ICT Infrastructure Management Support.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Information Systems Technology and Software; Configuration Management processes; Data Management; Network Hardware, Protocols, and Standards; Public Management and Administration; Planning and organisational skills.; Communication (written and verbal) skills; Proven computer literacy.

Remuneration

R 261 372 per annum (Salary level 7) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
